Refugees are people who have been forced to leave their country to escape war, persecution, or natural disaster.
Where refugees come from
The majority of refugees come from war heavy country's such as Afghanistan, which has held the title of the largest refugee-producing country in the world for 32 years*. As of 2016, one in every 13 Afghans had to flee their country*. Although some places produce a lot of refugees, they can come from all over the place. In 2015, 4,832 refugees originated in America*. That should really show that refugees can come from places that aren't full of war and chaos. They can come from everywhere, and every country should except them.
Unfortunately yes. The number of refugees has increased. Currently it is around 22,500,000 refugees and more than half of them are kids. however there are about 65,500,000 forcibly displaced people. Which are people that get "kicked out" of there homes from war, lack of food and water, and many other causes. They aren't refugees because they don't travel to other lands because they don have the materials, money or they simply just can't or maybe cause they don't want to.
